Have you watched the Disney movie "Brave"? Well, today's feature is an illustration created by Jordana Germano, a self-employed designer from Brazil. Her illustration on a curly hair girl makes it look like Merida from the movie Brave. Read on and see for yourself. Enjoy!

The illustration “Cachos” (“curly hair” in Portuguese) was made using just the app Adobe Photoshop Sketch on an iPad. It was one of my very first attempts in digital painting.

I was very interested in discover what I could get from mixing the texture produced by those brushes and digital inks on only one layer. Cachos was made just using my fingers on the screen surface, so it was possible to imprint a lot of natural movement on the lines, like it happens when you paint on paper.

To create a vibrant contrast in the image I focused on putting together shades of green on the background, and complementary warm colors on her skin and hair. Some bright yellow details in the hair added some visual volume.

That little girl was not created as an illustration for a specific project , so I was free to give her the final look that I liked the most, rough but sweet.
