2015 by Raphael Vicenzi
Illustrator Raphael Vicenzi 2015 illustrations are part of his own personal exploration and how he renewed his interest for collages. This project is more graphic design oriented and is a very spontaneous thing than the need to draw things, which takes longer.
I did not plan the illustrations very much, they are more like loose associations that flutter through my mind and I just try to grab them before they fade away. I work in bouts of creativity, trying to figure out where I am going while I am working on them. More often than not, working on different collages makes way for other ideas and way to place the elements. I am also very fond of re sampling the images, textures and such to create another one.

The first two images are part of a loose idea about modern witches living in a hidden city, in parallel world superposed to our own. They are using the internet, smartphones, emojis and such to fight evil outside of their city, but evil always find a way to seep through their defenses. The three other images are a partly linked to this story but they speak more about how I am going through dark times more than anything else although beauty is still shining through somehow.

With my style, I still don't know, it's just a mix of the different things I see, think or feel everyday. All my inspirations are on from tumblr.

My advice is to Explore, experiment & create.
