PKO Bank Polski is Poland’s largest bank. It gives services to individual and business clients and retail banking is the core business activity of PKO Bank Polski. In this feature, we bring you their 2015 PKO Bank Polski calendar which is designed by Michal Dziekan, an illustrator and character designer from Warsaw. Read on and be inspired on his designs!
PKO calendar is a project made of 13 illustrations commissioned by DDB warsaw for polish bank PKO, main theme of the topic was “digital reconstruction of classic polish films” which is sponsored by the bank. Every illustration depicts one film and, often in a weird way, shows a process of reconstruction.
It’s done digitally in Photoshop it took me about two months to finish, most challenging part of the project was idea phase at the beginning as I got very little time to come up with all sketches. Most inspiration came from movies itself, I’m a fan of old polish comedies and few of them was used as a topic in calendar so it was most inspiring part of the project.
