As the print media is getting obsolete and is in a process by replacing it with digital medium. Here was an attempt to keep the print media alive by giving it a mixed look of book publishing also digital publishing in form of social media.
This magazine focuses on all the major events that took place in 2015.

As a lot of people have stopped subscribing to physical magazines, leading a huge loss to the print sector. I think print is the purest medium of acquiring knowledge. I'm too afraid for newspaper getting obsolete.

I chose this style as it is the mixture of modern media + traditional media. It would encourage a lot of people to buy this copy as it has quite a fresh look.

This was also meant to give users a brief information / review on how the year 2015 passed with mostly all major news in all areas; i.e. Music, Fashion, Travel and World politics + events .

For this projects, I wanted to jump off the grid, hence I haven't used any sort of grids. It is supposed to be a free grid/layout publication. All the pages are different from each another. I think that's what makes it unique.

The project started with a lot of research and crunching of information, what subjects to choose, what do away with, etc. Most of my time went in exploring different publication styles. It took nearly 2 months to complete this book including the ideation process - final implementation.

The cover was dedicated to my favourite artist of 2015 (Drake) who's mixtape was on the loop "If you're reading this it's too late"
As I'd published this in 2016; I thought a slight twerk would make it interesting, "If you're reading this it's not too late"

The response I got was tremendous. I got more than 200 inquiries for purchasing the physical product.
I'd never expected this.

What I learnt from this project was that jumping off the grid at times does catch attention. Visually / Aesthetically appealing
things do get sold easily.

It's 2017 now, if I look back creating a Yearbook for 2016; I would make it really more engaging and exciting for the viewers.

Shall I make an attempt for a 2016 book?
