Adobe Creative Jam Vancouver
We had the pleasure of being part of the Adobe Vancouver Creative Jam where we were humbled to take out the 'People Choice Award' for the 'Visual Design' category. Our original static design frame was created in 3 hours. Please note that the animation and other close ups were created the next day.
At the beginning of the Jam we were given the them 'We are the sum of us'. This led us to creative a still image that represented a curated gallery to represent multiple artists and work held in the one space that has much more of an impact than just a solo project or artist. There are also other little elements such as the 3D 'W' and 'E' for 'WE' and some Mathematical icons to represent 'Sum'. It also plays on the fact that Caspian and myself met each other through curating for Pause Festival that led to our friendship and working together.
Software used is Cinema 4D, Photoshop, Octane. BWe began with the idea then a quick sketch on the notepad and fleshing out what we each wanted to work in the make best use of our 3 hour time constraint. It then came down to working in C4D and photoshop to create the finished still. The next day we gave it some life by putting it in motion and doing some close up stills.
We won the creative choice award. I would say there were about 200 people at then event that voted. All round it was a great night and helped sharpen our skills working under pressure. We originally wanted to finish the event with the animation we produced the next day but realize that you can never rely on 3D because of render times and computer crashes.
