This project features illustrations of in-demand, hypebeast apparel, accessories and shoes. I wanted to illustrate these items because it's something I'm interested in. It started with a pair of Adidas NMD's but then just kept going on to include Supreme, Adidas, Boost, Nike, Comme Des Garcons, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and heaps more.
I really wanted to illustrate these products because I'm personally very interested in them. One of my friends is admin of a popular group here in Brisbane called the Brisbane Sneaker Bazaar. It's a group where members can discuss, buy and sell all these kinds of items. He saw some of the first ones I had illustrated and wanted to have some for the group. So that's really where it all stemmed from.
I chose this style of illustration because it's one of my favourite styles. I love the look of it. It's simple but you can still put your own stamp on it. Plus, they're still instantly recognisable.
I used Adobe Illustrator for the entire process. I started with pictures of the apparel and objects and drew from there. The style of illustration I like is all flat illustration, so there's no gradients, just the colours. This made it a bit tricky for some of the objects... but I don't mind a challenge!
People responded really well actually, which I'm so happy about! It's such a good feeling hearing that people like your work and wish to utilise your skills in the future. This project also opened doors to some more work, so that's super exciting too!
Being a young freelancer, I'm constantly learning things from projects. There'e always something new that comes up or a problem that I have to face. That's what keeps it interesting though.
Thanks for checking out my project!
