Ludmila Katagarova's project is about Anaya Coffee, a small family-owned coffee shop in Melbourne, Florida. They have developed a unique cold brew coffee process that is a pressurized nitrogen extraction. It has all the same qualities of cold brew but results in a more concentrated brew that tastes great black but also holds up well to milk and sugar. They were looking for 3 different labels for Concentrate, Muse, and Focus bottles (Muse - sweetened "ready to drink" cold brew, Focus - "ready to drink" black cold brew, both will be sold in standard 12oz beer bottles, Concentrate will be sold in 16 oz stubby ("elixir") bottles).

The main point of brief was "Bring us a label that is not like every other cold coffee label out there; since our product is not like every other cold coffee!". There are a lot of rustic and vintage designs for cold brew coffee so I decided to go another way and use linear illustration style. The client was located in a beach/surfer small city. Their area was known for waves and the space center and rocket launches. It identified illustrations topics: Kennedy space center for Focus bottle, girl on a beach for Muse, landscape with clients coffee shop and some other town buildings for Concentrate bottle. I also used bright colors to attract attention to product names.

I always work using Adobe software - for this project Adobe Illustrator. When I work with illustrations I always start from hand drawn sketches, scan them and create final illustration using Adobe Illustrator. So all final illustrations is in vector format and can be resized and used in different web and print marketing materials.

I hope people like it. One of my friend call it "futuristic retro style". I have always liked creating illustrations for packaging and label design and always try to do my best for it. Working in linear style I always try to make new illustration different from my previous work in details.
