Art Gallery in Nałęczów by Michał Morzy
The Art Gallery in Nałęczów is a semestral project by Michał Morzy, Katarzyna Buczak and Paulina Antoszkiewicz. Nałęczów is a spa town situated on the Nałęczów Plateau in Poland's Lublin Province. In the 18th century, the discovery there of healing waters initiated the development of a health resort; the main treatments are for circulatory disorders.
The project is located in small town in central Poland called Nałęczów. Its famous of its picturesque scenery, architectural works and natural springs with healing powers, which made it a spa resort in the XIX century.

The biggest challenge hidden behind this project, was to create an architecture well inscribed in the context of the city full of XIX century villas, palaces, nature. What is more, the building itself were designed as an art gallery next to a famous art high school placed in modern building from 30's.

My greatest inspiration where simple shed as an archetypal shape of the house/building. We ( a notice for you: that was a university group project. The team of 3 person - Michał Morzy, Katarzyna Buczak, and Paulina Antoszkiewicz. After that, I took it and developed it to the next level + I did the cgi presentation ) decomposed the building into many parts, and we generate a movement of the structure that generate an effect of mobility of the shape, which achieve an integration between the interior and exterior of the gallery.

I am heavily inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian architects. In architecture, I am looking for minimalism, the quality of the spaces, natural, authentic materials.

About Michał Morzy
Michał Morzy is a graduate of architecture at the Technical University of Gdansk. In addition to a passion for architecture, for several years he is growing up in computer graphics. He is already awarded in an architectural competition and published on the web. This would be a gorgeous art gallery! I love the design of it and the details are brilliant, too. Art galleries are about just that; art...therefore it is important that they themselves look like art rather than just some plain, old building. Awesome design!
