Cecillia Hidayat's project "Barking Obito" is a company specializing in delicious, natural and healthy dog treats. They have an instagram account to share the daily life with dogs that every dog parents can relate, in a fun way.

So, based on quotes found on the internet, I was asked to visualize them into fun illustrations. You can check them here to get a full picture of what they do : Barking Obito.

I was already given some quotes to start with, so all I have to do is visualizing them. I made the illustration digitally, with crayon-y like brushes using Photoshop, to achieve the fun but organic look in the illustrations. Dogs are naive creatures, so by using the brushes I hope to portray that on my illustrations.

Adobe Photoshop and Wacom Bamboo. First I made sketches of what I had in mind after reading the quotes. Sometimes it's hand-drawn with pencils, sometimes I sketched them directly using my Wacom. After the client approves, I finalize those sketches in Photoshop. The results are the final illustrations.

People can relate to them because the quotes relate to them as dog-persons. I sure do hope the illustrations helped them to see the idea in a fun way. Oh yes. I tried to make the dog illustration as fun and simple as possible, but then I have to learn about the real dog proportions to achieve the natural feeling although all the dogs I drew were deformed realistic figures. I also learn how to fit a story in just one illustration, that people can still get the idea and relate to.
