Bicycle: Gentleman Playing Cards by Charles AP
Charles AP's latest project "Bicycle: Gentleman Playing Cards" is a set of designed cards for Gambler's Warehouse. Bicycle Playing Cards are a popular brand of standard playing cards. Since 1885, the Bicycle brand has been manufactured by the United States Printing Company, which, in 1894, became the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) of Cincinnati. "Bicycle" is a trademark of that company.
This project is one of the playing cards project I designed and distributed by Gambler's Warehouse. On this project, I wanted to explore the art deco style and implement it to this project. I never created anything based on this theme before and I must admit that now I'm in love with Art deco style. :)

The main inspiration before I decided to use art deco is when I saw so many elegant pattern using art deco style on google. For example, the pattern on the "Great Gatsby" movie title. I love it so much and I think it would be cool if I implement it into a playing cards design which normally needs an elegant looks.

I don't know a specific name of my art style, maybe a dark art. There are so many artist that inspired me such as Hydro74, Palehorse design, Etc.

Exploration on techniques are the key. Do exploration as much as you can until you find out what illustration technique that you love the most and make you different with any other artists out there.
