Bookling is a mobile app which helps you keep track of your reading habits and motivates you to read more. You can bookmark multiple books, add reminders, set goals and get rewarded for reading more. Focusing on readers who still prefer physical books over tablets.

To read a book is like meditation a whole new world to explore with the power of words. For me and many others, a tablet will never replace a real book. We wanted a name which defines that passion and is a proud tag for people who love to read. Bookling is a word that defines that individual who admire books and reading.

I love to read and I read multiple books at the same time. I read a mix of physical books and ebooks and I wanted to keep a track of them and monitor my process. I wanted a simple which lets me do this and to my surprise I discovered there were not a lot of options so I decided I should make one.

It started with multiple sessions of brainstorming and research. From the beginning our focus was to make a simple tool to track the books you are reading and incorporate gasification so that user is motivated to read more. Once the features were locked we moved to Information architecture and worked on user flow, sitemaps and wireframes. After that we worked with few focus groups and tweaked the UX flow. Once the UX was designed we moved to UI and worked on custom icons, colour schemes and UI animations.

We use Adobe Illustrator for all the designing. For Animation we used After Effects, Flash and Photoshop. I got the ideas from my love for books and personal need of an app that let me keeps a check. I also made a lot of revisions, I will say around 4 to 5 majors ones and several small ones.
