Katie Kristian is an online shop that my sister and I created attached to our blog @darlinglittlepetites. This online store is a way to connect with our followers and consumers as well as showcase our designs on various products. I wanted to highlight in my portfolio my branding skills such as a consistent brand story, color palette, and design.

I was highly influenced from my surroundings. As I am currently interning in New York City, I saw a lot of clean lines, classic looks, and lots of artists that wanted to express their visions through their art, whether fashion to photography. I also looked at various color palettes to see what stood out to me and what future consumers would be attracted to. Our target audience is focused on women from around 18 years old up until their mid-40's and 50's, so being able to understand their consumer behavior and preferences did play into the design of this project. I was definitely playing on the theme of professional, clean cut as I was thinking of the logo, color palette, and other website decisions that needed to be made. All the photography, graphics, and designs on the products are all created by me and my twin sister, Kaitlyn.

I used Shopify, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, Procreate App, and hand drawn illustration.
Step 1: I had to come up with the concept and did a lot of hand drawn illustration, especially for the logo as well as consult my partner for the shop, my twin sister Kaitlyn.
Step 2: I had to create a Shopify account and design the website. Although Shopify does have pre-made website layouts, there is so much more work than picking a customized layout. I had to organize the tabs, add coding for Instagram, Facebook, and Google Ads/Anaylitcs as well as add a wishlist. Shopify also has a lot of apps that come with the website, so I had to pick and choose the right drop shipping partner, analytics app, and so much more.
Step 3: Creating content. I used pretty much all the rest of the Adobe products listed above to create content and designs, whether for the website or for our products. All the photos for our ads have been taken by myself or my twin sister. Editing was done in Lightroom for the Photos, while designs for our products were first illustrated, put in Adobe Illustrator, then put in photoshop to be the right file for the vendor, and lastly put on the product.

I have gotten a lot of positive responses on those who have seen the website and I am very excited to see it grow. I am also hoping others can be inspired by it and can find something their love to do. I also realized how much dedication, drive, and passion I had to go into this project in order for it to be so successful.
However, I am still a student (although I have graduated university) and continue to learn from the world around me.

I am a graduate from High Point University. I am from Dallas, Texas and am a marketing major with communication and graphic design minors. I am an individual who has a passion for developing creative campaigns and building relationships with others. I am known by my peers to frequently be brainstorming and designing innovative projects. However, three unique characteristics that make me stand out are: 1) I am a dedicated and hard worker toward any goal I am given. 2)I am an ambitious student as well as worker toward ideas and activities I am passionate about. 3) I am an empathetic, organized, and efficient individual who finds value in teamwork. My study of marketing provides me with a deeper
understanding of the who, what, when, where, and why of the consumer.
My love for art, travel, and photography boost my curiosity as a life long learner.
