Cica is a concept project, targets young generation who loves vinyl record culture. Vinyl record culture is disappearing due to fast-growing technology. In result, only few of vinyl record lovers left who loves to go vinyl record store. Therefore, as a vinyl record culture lover who wishes vinyl revival, I decided to make conceptual brands about vinyl records.

In order to attract more young generations, I took more playful approach, integrating with energetic color palette and various album covers. Yellow was chosen for the main color since it represents good vibes, joy, happiness, and other optimistic feelings. Also, I believe every album deserves to be treated differently since each has different vibe and characteristics, I highlighted each album cover with incorporating with the logo. In that way, each album could shine by itself.

Initially, I sketched various logos that would fit perfectly to the theme. Consequently, I came up with incorporating vinyl shape and "c" and "a" from CICA. Then I used Adobe Illustrator to finalize the logo. Then I used Indesign and Photoshop to create branding system including name card, letterhead, poster, and so on. Then I used Photoshop to mockup to show branding in the context.

Most people liked my project incorporating logo and vinyl shape and applying album cover into the logo. Since it was done when I was in sophomore year in college, I learned a lot during working on this project such as researching, making progress, technical skills and essential things about branding & identity.
