This interior made by digital artist Vladislav Voskresenski who also made 'November Visualization', CGI Loft Store is for a clothing shop "Vnepogoda" in Vladivostok. The design of commercial equipment and interior was developed by "KB" bureau in Vladivostok. Vladislav's task was to make a 3D visualization for presentation to customers and other project participants.

This is not my first 3D visualization for them. By the way, these guys took a lot of international design awards including Red Dot Award. According to the technical task, the project uses simple, time-tested materials and constructions. "KB" style is to achieve maximum efficiency and reliability with simple means.

I tried to make not just a technical illustration of the project, but to convey the spirit of materials, solid wood, painted metal, abrasion-resistant ceramic tiles. In my artistic conception of the visualization daylight was of great importance, I wanted to show how it reveals the natural beauty and character of the material, tectonics and elegant rational design of equipment. Regarding the technical aspects of visualization, in order to achieve greater realism, I tried to avoid perfectly flat surface, and to add some roughness, bruising everywhere.

For example, I made floor tiles using Floor generator plug. It allows you to have random texture to the tiles and it eliminates the so-called tiling texture. So I tried to avoid obvious copied objects and textures. I rotated, mirrored them, but did not allow alike objects to face each other, and it gave a positive effect on the final picture. The scene is illuminated by a HDRi map showing cloudy sky. After rendering I did post-production on the passes in Photoshop. The background of the urban panorama was also put there.

I think I was inspired by the interiors of the era of Soviet modernism. Then, reliability and rationality were of more importance than style and aesthetics. Although rationality itself undoubtedly has its own aesthetics. I think that the difference between my approach to visualization is that with its help I try to interest the viewer emotionally rather than logically.

Honestly, I do not think about if I have my own style or not. If I do have it, it occurs simply on the basis of the client's task. I rarely seek inspiration among CG artists, but more often in the film industry, photography and painting. My advice to 3d artists is to try adding more of their own participation in the creation of 3D content, and not just to rely on the power of the render engine. Remember that 3D software is only a canvas and paint for you.
