I wanted to create a simple vector art poster. I decided to illustrate a memory from my childhood. What stood out the most was learning how to ride a bicycle. Childhood Bicycle is a personal project that was created to be an entertaining illustration.

The idea for this illustration came from my first bicycle. It was a light metallic blue banana seat huffy bicycle. When your a kid life is pretty simple. This simplicity is reflected in the illustration by clean lines and shapes. I chose a color theme that would look professional and fun. The banana for a seat was used because I wanted people to see this and say "Oh look it's a banana seat bicycle." I hope that seeing this it takes people back to their childhood.

I started with a sketch on my iPad Pro w/iPencil, using the Adobe Sketch app. I used some photo reference of bicycles and I tried to remember what my bicycle looked like. I refined the sketch before transferring it to Adobe Illustrator. In Illustrator I used the pen tool and simple shapes to trace over my sketch. I used Adobe Capture to create a color theme.

I have had positive comments from this illustration. When working on this I was remembering all the curb jumps I did on that bicycle. It's a fun illustration meant to put a smile on your face and take you back to your childhood.
