Edgar Bąk's latest project is about the Copernicus Science Centre, a science museum standing on the bank of the Vistula River in Warsaw, Poland. It contains over 450 interactive exhibits that enable visitors to single-handedly carry out experiments and discover the laws of science for themselves. The Centre is the largest institution of its type in Poland and one of the most advanced in Europe.

Centrum Nauki Kopernik (Copernicus Science Centre). After its regular opening hours, the Copernicus Centre, a hit with Warsaw’s children, shows its “adult face.” Each one of these evenings is a unique event focusing on a particular real-life subject like love and sex, food, or time perception. In addition to gallery tours, the centre offers additional attractions such as workshops, movie screenings, performances, games, lectures, discussions with experts, concerts and adult beverages. The Heavens of Copernicus planetarium also changes its programming to reflect the evenings topic.

I usually have little time to prepare a poster, as we also prepare leaflets, maps and additional materials. There is no time for photo sessions. So the idea have to be something I can handle with my skills easy and fast. And I'm fluent in vector illustration.

Every event is about everyday life and emotions from the side of science, and this is a subject that interested, I'm in it naturally inquisitive. Visual language of science is largely simplified diagrams and symbols. And I'm willing to soften them with a sense of humor.

I deal with several fields of graphic design. In the illustration field, I'm interested in surrealism, irony, a sense of humor. In the typical graphic design work, I usually use algorithmic thinking - I set some boundary conditions and watch as it unfolds. In the case of visual identification I take whatever work.

Do not try to be trendy, but feel the spirit of the times. Ask yourself if what you do is important for people and if it change their world for the better. You spend a lot of time on the computer or behind a desk so try to move a lot in your spare time.
