Sherif Tamim's Crave Restaurant is a very important client. Crave is considered one of the major leaders in the food a beverage industry in Egypt, and is accessible by most of the Egyptians in different zones of Cairo mainly. So crave, their client is not just a client where they finish their task and get paid, but instead it was a very important channel, they talk to the whole market! People get to know new trends of food photography, styling and presentation, as well as the type of food itself - through Crave.

After 5 years from their last menu, and after reaching more than 500 000 customers, Crave started to ask for more friendly daylight images, with human interaction. They asked to start with their beverages menu as it was meant to be launched in the summer. They also used one of the best bartenders in the middle east to be their beverage consultant.

My style is very random, I tend to be a story-teller of all my clients rather than just being an image capturer. Every new client have his story that started the brand. I love telling their customers a whole experience behind what they get, not just the final products. For example, I would tell the restaurant guests about the farms, butchers , dairy and fish suppliers , passing through the kitchen, then through the interiors of the place till the dish is served on your table. This is why I prefer being called lifestyle photographer not food photographer. One of my main inspiration is Francesco Tonelli, a New York based photographer

Clicking the button of a digital camera is the easiest thing anyone can do, 10 minutes can be enough to teach you techniques of photography, but using your imaginations to tell a story is something not a single technology can access. So be creative please :) I used a Canon EOS with some Carl Zeiss macro lenses , daylight or flashes, but I prefer daylight when I can

Sherif Tamim - Food, lifestyle and travel photographer; rose up among a passionate family of artists who lived in Italy, a destination that inspired their lifestyle combining its flavors and arts with authentic Egyptian culture. Exploring the arts of everyday developed throughout his path to become a passion. After graduating from school of architecture in 2001, he pulled his very basic gear and started an endless journey of exploring people, their lives, what they eat and where they travel. Wasn’t actually seeing photography as a career, as much as just participating in some documentaries and short articles, or doing some exhibitions. His first exhibition about Siwa oasis, a paradise in the North of Egypt western desert, was the spark that led to his professional path and determined the inevitable switch of vocation, from Architecture to Photography.
