Delain are a Melbourne based importer of fine porcelain from Jingdezhen China. The goal was to communicate the traditional porcelain craftsmanship and reference the local culture of Jingdezhen but also balance it with contemporary design and aesthetics that would attract a modern consumer.

We decided upon a soft colour palette as the target market is predominantly female and we didn't want the design to overpower the photography. Once the colour was nailed, we chose a simple wordmark but coupled it with a set of illustrations creating a pattern to extend the brand across packaging and promotional items.

The brand identity and illustration is all vector design, created using Adobe Illustrator. The photography is shot in the studio by Maikka Trupp and styled by Killa Production. Only minimal retouching was necessary, carried out in Photoshop. I handled the web design, working closely with Your Creative who developed the site.

The response has been great with over 1800 appreciations on Behance so far. I've learnt that tight deadlines can be achieved working with a great team. The client, photographer, stylist and development team all worked perfectly together, allowing us to deliver a beautiful finished product on time and on budget.
