The project DIY Stuff are all images that were non commercial contributions to self-organized diy projects in Hamburg. Philipp Lemm, an illustrator from Hamburg, Germany likes to make these drawings as a contribution and to give back to a scene that he cherishes. He likes the idea of being able to add to an esthetic that has had an enourmes impact on himself and has shaped the way he sees and draw things. Let us take a look at his designs and enjoy!

The ideas for the images in DIY Stuff are either related to the context of the event that it is made for, for example the lung on the poster for the loss of breath fest, or are taken from my sketchbooks. Sometimes when I draw a blank on new ideas, I go through my sketchbooks to see if I find an earlier idea I have had that I see fit for the cause.

  1. I love these types of illustrations. As I looked through them I was trying to figure out the meaning behind them. The artist really got me thinking and that is a good thing.
