If you haven't seen the legendary anime Dragon Ball, you're missing a lot from your childhood! Dragon Ball Z follows the adventures of the protagonist Son Goku, a super strong naïve boy who, upon meeting Bulma, sets out to gather the seven wish-granting Dragon Balls. Graphic Designer wanted Tamas Moroz wanted a poster that means a lot to him thus his project -Dragon Ball Z Posters.

This project started sometime last year when I've started to upgrade my workspace, and I've wanted to decorate my walls with posters that mean something to me. So I've searched the web for some posters from the 90's when I was a small kid. I was a huge Dragon Ball fan since I was little, (I saw all the episodes like 3 - 4 times ) so Goku, or some other DBZ character was a must to have on my wall.

I've found some I've liked but, I thought I could give it a try and make it myself. So I've started sketching the first one, Piccolo ... I've always loved to draw the character's faces so I've decided to make the character's faces/expression stand out on my illustrations. After the sketch when I moved to digital, but then I had to take a break from it and work on other stuff. So months went by, and somewhere 1-2 months ago, I went back to it.

A lot of things inspire me but for these posters I've got the boost to do them after I've saw DKNG's posters. Their work is amazing ... I love every poster they make (I recommend checking out their Skillshare classes). Beside them, a huge influence was Hydro74 , his art is just ... wow... & I dig SignalNoise too. Overall, I like to use thick lines, solid colours and sharp edges. A few years back I've studied etching and I've fall in love with this type of art, so, I guess my goal is to create something similar to those sharp, edgy lines you create with the chisels.

My advice is when you have time, draw something...Anything...Even it's a 5-minute sketch, it will help you on the long run! Always experiment, get out of your comfort zone, and try new things. For example, when I have time I practice lettering, I don't want to be a pro letterer it's just something I do for fun. So I recommend that you try out different things...It never hurt to learn new things!

  1. Great posters, great process! Really love the final look of each character. Nice to see some nostalgia in designideas

  2. Love these! I also really enjoyed reading the artist's words and what he had to say as far as advice goes to other artists. Very inspiring and he clearly has a lot of talent.

  3. I love DBZ and thought of myself as Bulma, Vegeta's wife. This project is pretty well illustrated. Well done! =D
