The work was made for the final exhibition of the artgroup Evokeone, who after ten years closed their doors with an exhibition titled, 'Forever'. I created three images for this exhibition all centered around a single hand unnaturally suspended and poised to evoke a sense of timelessness.

The pieces incorporate some elements I had wanted to use previously and all seemed to come together under the theme of the work. I get very interested by using materials in 3D software to create a variety of surface textures and so wanted to keep these images minimal in composition allowing me the space to explore different treatments.

All modelling, sculpting and composition was created in Blender. Blender was also used as the interface to Corona which was used for materials, lights and rendering. Corona handles certain lighting situations very nicely often giving a more natural look than other renderers. I use Photoshop heavily for Post Processing such as manually adding depth of field, glare and lots of color grading to get the final look.

I have received some nice positive feedback on this project and am glad I could contribute to the final chapter of a historic artgroup. Working on this project has reminded me spending more time on less can be a good balance!
