Photographer Peechaya Burroughs' Food 1 is series of photos that gives a playful twist on food to transform it to other than what it is. Food 1 is the first collection of food related photographs that she created and posted on Instagram, then shared on Behance.

I like my work to be simple and clean with very few elements or colours in it. I focus more on the idea, the story or the character which I’m trying to communicate. I also consider some graphic design rules such as the use of composition and colours etc. I also like to experiment with mixing objects which may come from various sources together but are relevant in some way and able to assist me with telling the story.

I love food in general and that’s probably how, apart from consuming it, I love to have my hands on it, or even to look at it. I think food has its own individual identity and character. In this project, or in my food photography in general, I just want to express characteristics of food based on my personal impression and/or how I see it.

My style is simple and perhaps subtle, with few elements and focus more on expressing the idea/story. I love work that is innovative, unique/different in style and thinking and yet practical or approachable , as well as being fun and nice to look at. I also enjoy work that leaves me some room for interpretation. These are my inspirations whether they’re architecture, photography, or painting etc.

About Peechaya Burroughs

Peechaya Burroughs graduated with B.A. in Fine Arts, majoring in Communication Design from Bangkok University. Prior to that, she studied in a high school concentrating in Art in Bangkok. After spending some time working for various advertising and graphic design agencies in Bangkok, she moved to Australia and undertook her further study in Diploma of Website Production and Management at TAFE Sydney Institute. She then continued to work as a graphic designer in Sydney with additional skills in web design. Currently, she's living with her husband and two children.
