Branding and brand application for online music platform Four Heads. The graphic identity was designed to cover a depth of assets with the ambition to be iconic and memorable. This was achieved through the development of playful typography that was paired with simple design motifs and a colourful palette.

Four heads needed a diverse logo that could be incorporated into their artwork across print and digital.

The logo has been designed into three formats, a typographic logo, an icon logo and a plain text logo. Each has soft contours and a playful composition reflecting the platforms casual and approachable attitude. The logo was designed to reflect a stamp aesthetic, so it could be easily applied across all of the platforms assets.

The logo design included the development and design of the vinyl releases on the platform. The vinyl covers explore a more playful graphic world that introduces colours and shapes. The covers feature experimental typography that allows them to be striking. Each cover has been individually designed with a similar concept that can be seen to be developing across the covers.

Using illustrator is always the best for manipulating type and creating more experimental typography, I used paths and developed them so that the type was playful but still legible. The shapes were also designed in illustrator as I wanted them to have a hand-made feeling, and not look to crisp.

The project was featured on the front page of Behance and a lot of design blogs also featured it, through this I think the overall reaction to the project was good. I think people enjoyed the subtleties of design motifs in collaboration of slick typography.
