Sergi Brosa's Fury Beats is a new IP him and Jean Paul are creating. For now, they have a lot of characters, environment and stories. They are now focusing into show this new universe and tell this stories using different channels. The first thing we are developing is provisionally named FURY BEATS : TURBO. It is a racing videogame (mario kart kind) where the players will be able to see for first time all this universe and characters moving and fighting for the success. Here is where we want to introduce the world and characters, and be able to tell a little bit about them. We are also working into produce vinyl figures with the characters, and also in an RPG video game for the same universe.

Each character is connected in this universe. We have created a map, where we are going to be locating everything that happens in the universe. Every new story is gonna take place in this universe, where we can change the place, the characters and the time to tell the story. This way we can increase the back story of everything, giving allways new details about the characters and stories you already know.

Some years ago I started creating random characters and vehicles inspired by all the stuff I loved. Bit by bit it grew up, and it became something more than a random thing. Then, I felt I needed something stronger to have an excuse to keep increasing the concept art. Without a back story, without main characters and side characters, stuff didn't make sense. So, This is when I started collaborating with Jean Paul. Together we create a place, developed a story, and just started throwing new ideas. This is the process I like the most, when we sit down taking a coffee and end up just freaking out with the amount of stupid things we can say together. I love it. Then, we came up with this amazing and beautiful universe that is called Fury Beats.

I can say that everything inspired me. Ofcourse, classic stuff like Mad Max and Water World. An other huge inspiration for me is nowadays fashion, motorbikes and rad vehicles, and a tone of anime I love like Akira, Cowboy Bebop or Samuari Champloo. I'm inspired by French Anime. I am not sure if it would be named like this, but this is how I feel it. France has a huge comic book industry that is hidden for many people around the world. You can find there a lot of stories and wonderful artists. One of my references was Bengal (now working for MARVEL) with his comic MEKA: Inside and MEKA: outside. Barbucci's Sky Doll, and many other french comics was a huge inspiration for me in the past. I learnt anatomy, colors and gestuality from them. I learnt the rest from internet, haha, and from movies and a huge mix of different sources.

Whatever you do, do it half with passion and half with brain. You will love that people enjoy your ideas as they enjoy your technique. Don't get obsessed with your art and the art of others, and enjoy this. At the end, this is just a way of life, and a way of enjoying your job everyday. :)

About Sergi Brosa

Sergi Brosa, is a Spanish concept artist bread in Barcelona. During the last years, he has been, the last years, art directing projects in a Canadian company called Fathom Interactive, and recently moved to a AAA company located in the US. He's focusing right now in concept character, props and vehicles art. With the collaboration of his mate Jean Paul Egred (Pol 999 on Behance), they create a tone of new content for new IPs or IPs already existant. He is the one who add the back story to everything he does, so they are a strong team. Working together from Barcelona, now they're opening a studio focused on concept art for AAA videogames and movies with some other artists.
