Asked how Illustrator Miguel Membreño describe his project, "If I can try to explain it in a few words, I would say it was critical and done in a surreal way (and even with some sarcasm) to represent my social environment right now. In my country, the social problems affects us in a huge way, and many people are murdered every day at the cost of delinquency. However, the most alarming, is the fact that it seems the "good people" do not care at all about these situations, so we live in a huge indifference. Unfortunately, it´s like we are now used to live in this way."

It was just a way to show my point of view of the current situation that we have to deal everyday here in my country. I guess I can describe my style as “realistic surreal”. It´s influenced by films a lot with a little of american comics style too. But almost in all my pieces I try to add my designer perspective to reach better results and compositions, putting a lot of attention on the details. But my main goal has been always try to communicate feelings, ideas and thoughts through my work.

I receive a lot inpiration from films and video game art influences ( but I prefer to read books than play video games), and if I can mention a couple or artist, right now I admire so much the work of Sergey Kolesov, a talented concept artist from France and another concept artist Piotr Jabłoński from Poland.

As an aspiring artist as well, the best advice I can give is "Do what you love and believe in, and the success will come naturally.", I´m from a third word country, with limited resources and opportunities for illustrators, but I have almost 3 years working as a freelance illustrator for international clients from entertainment industries like advertising, editorial, animation and indie video games studios, taking online art courses at the same time, reading books and trying everyday to learn more and more to get better. So my point is, if I you love what you do, good things come with it.
