The Grind is a coffee shop that is part of the thirty logos challenge. I had to create a logo with out using the color brown. It was definitely challenging and fun and I can't wait to move on to the next challenge.

The client did not want brown because it was kind of cliche. So I went with some different earth tone colors. I also decided to put a coffee cup in the G for the logo. I came up with different color schemes for the logo as well.

The good old sketch book was the first step while looking up different ideas for coffee, mugs, coffee beans etc. After getting the logo sketches how I wanted I took them into illustrator and pen tooled everything out. The Grind word mark is a preexisting font.

People seem to like the logo so that's always a good thing. I'm learning how to research more instead of jumping right into illustrator once I have an idea, the more research I do the better I can understand the client and their needs.
