Home Speaker Concept
A couple of months ago, I took part in Sqore's " Design for Audio Technology" competition. The challenge was to design concepts of speakers, earphones or headphones using Fusion 360 only. I designed a Home Speaker and used Keyshot after the competition to practice my renderings.
The speaker, I called it 360 is a home Bluetooth speaker that provides 360 deg audio, is user intuitive and is beautiful. These are the three pillars on which I designed it.
I came up with this specific speaker design after getting frustrated at how with many speakers, one cannot get full audio quality from whichever direction. As I continued working on the design, I realized the importance of having to keep it simple and familiar to use; that's why it comes with control gestures similar to mobile devices, like swiping and tapping. Lastly, since every person has their own view of what is beautiful, I provided a variety of colors for people with different tastes.
After normal sketching on paper, I used Fusion 360 to create 3-D models of different forms. Later, after deciding on one form factor, I developed it in-depth using the same software. Since the competition required that only Fusion 360 is used, I rendered the model using Fusion's rendering workspace for the sake of the competition.
Afterwards, I used Keyshot to practice advanced rendering techniques that i simply could not do in Fusion 360.
So far, reviews have been good. Although not planned for production, people like the idea. I personally learned the basics of how Keyshot works, and I find it better than other rendering software I used previously. I plan to utilize it fully in my future designs.
Please comment and let me know what you think. I'm learning and could use your valuable input.
What a nice design, so cool
