Photographer Juan Antonio Partal narrates "The city is not perfect. The continuous flow of people and machines make it a nervous crowded landscape of contrasts between peripheries and edges. In the city, opulence and misery are looking to side without shame. It is a random shrill territory, yet 54 percent of the world population lives in urban areas and the forecast is that by 2050 the figure had reached 66 percent. The old suspicion that the metropolis is space opportunities confronted with a soulless reality."

"The individual, jaded, feel the need to own the streets hunting for their particular hollowness, a hidden space, however, is available in abundance in other geographies. The population density in Iceland does not exceed 3 per square kilometer. A small island in the middle of a dorsal, frost, storms whipped, almost desert and volcanic, houses one of the most advanced societies in the world. Is a parenthesis between the fervent bustle of tar and smoke? () Is a pause, a break in the confusion, a plea to a forgotten peace, welfare blaming us. It is an oasis of silence in the middle of a raucous world where the landscape has swallowed its inhabitants, where the average overcomes the individual."

This project was realized in 2014 for a roadtrip for Iceland for a month. The project seeks to reflect on the new cities and the relationship between the person and the environment. I enclose the text accompanying the images.

I have made this project because it sought solitude and to make photographs in empty places. I love Iceland, music (Sigur Ros, for a minor reflection, mum). I'm a humanist photographer. I like to explore places unknown to me. My photography is characterized by wide frames, symmetry. I always leave open the viewer history.

Work, work and work. It is important to leave the comfort zone. I used a Canon eos 5d mark 2, with 24-105 lens. Neutral density filter and polaricer. Tripod.
