Corporate Identity for Paramedics Association
Corporate identity for Czech Association of Paramedics (NLZP - Sekce nelekarskych zdravotnickych pracovniku) who belongs under the Czech Society for Emergency and Disaster Medicine. The association's main aims are to educate the paramedic professionals, to bring new legislative to government, to support the research and science in the paramedic area, and to organise conferences in order to inform and share the knowledge.
The requirement was to create visualy fresh brand that would break the old-fashioned standards and stand out amond other associations of this kind. The idea behind the symbol comes out of the blue Star of Life, representing emergency medical services that most of the NLZP members are part of. However since NLZP association aims at higher goals, the Star of Life is used as basics and the new symbol is 'built on it'. It represents diversity, research, science, DNA, not an easy path in terms of legislative changes; and can be broken into NLZP letters.
Since the organisation is a non-profit I went with limited colour pallette of black & white plus one additional colour (turqoise - fitting the association's characteristics most).
1. internet, library - for most of the research
2. brain - to think and come up with concepts
3. pencils and sketchbook - to draw the initial ideas
4. illustrator - to develop the most promising concepts digitally / create the final logo and stationery applications
5. photoshop - to create the website, and some animations
The client responded very well. He appreciated their new identity has a thought / meaning behind.
I always learn something from every new project. Here it was the production budget limitation (for printed materials as well as for website). The challenge also was to create fresh and modern identity which however needs to be able to stand some rather conservative environment.
