A furniture is a product of design and is considered a form of decorative art. This project not only shows great concept art, it also aims to address space constraints in urban living. It is a perfect versatile furniture, suitable for a modern life. Every section of the desk has a great use. An awesome choice for a home workstation. Check it out!

During these days where living space is quite limited, home users need to think more deliberately when buying a piece of furniture. Our KITT desk was designed to overcome such constraints. It is fully equipped with great versatility, suitable for a modern life and every part of the desk can be best used without wasting some space. So the main idea is to exploit the desk space to have the most effective use and the desk should satisfy modern lifestyle requirements.

Then we have an idea that the area underneath the desk can also be used in several ways. This initiates the idea of combining the functions of the desk and storage into one desk. Up to these days, most desks do not have this feature and their shapes look quite rigid, making the user feel uncomfortable while working and becoming not suitable for limited space.

Multi-functional design - the drawer size is designed to contain at least a 15" laptop, which is a standard size for adult users.

Two hangers on both sides, to hang any items such as bag or a headphone. Mini storage under the desk to store less frequently used items such as books, magazines, tool box or power extension cord. It also has a fall stopper at the back of the desk.

The KITT desk is designed for home users, so safety is the first priority. We then focus on using curvy shape and rounding the desk corner which is the area that has direct contact to the user. Moreover, this could prevent kids or the elderly from having severe injury when hitting the desk. The KITT desk is also multi-purpose and can be used according to the user's age. For example, kids require space for storing textbooks, so they can use the compartment parts for storing books. Adults use a computer or electronic devices, so they can use the compartment to place power extension or storing miscellaneous items.

We choose to use solid woods because the older they are, the more valuable they become. The furniture made from solid wood can be crafted or manufactured in a small scale and it provides a comfortable feeling for home users. We mix various kinds of woods in this work, that are oak and walnut together to add an aesthetic appearance and the value to the furniture. The whole project  took about 7 months to finish.
