Kurva is a thesis project of Jordan Steranka that was for his Industrial design major. It took them 6 months to design a vanity chair for their senior capstone project at the Western Washington University. However, the project name "Kurva" is a Swedish word that means bend and bend refers to the form of the chair.

6 months of sketching, ideation and prototyping led me in this direction that ended up as Kurva. I would say the biggest influence I had was pushing modern materials in unconventional ways. The biggest challenges I faced were working with manufacturers to help achieve my vision of the design while working around manufacturing constraints and capabilities.
