Andreea Niculae's the “Late Night Egyptian Tales” is a collection of goddesses based on the Egyptian history with a bit of twist. She loves drawing naked girls and tattoos. Combining those two this beautiful project came to life. The tattoos they have represent objects or the culture of Egypt combined with modern design that she like.
The idea for the “Late Night Egyptian Tales” project was in my to do list for a couple of years. It didn’t have a name and I didn’t know where I was going with it either. The theme was to portray beautiful goddesses from the Egyptian history. Based on that I felt that gold was the appropriate colour to move forward with. I never had in mind exactly how many drawings it will be in total. It just had a flow and I felt when it was the right time to stop.
The history of Egypt had a massive impact on the project and it was a massive inspiration for me. I’ve always been fascinated about Egypt and this my way to show my passion for it.
A lot people say that my style is very quirky and modern. Behance has been a massive inspiration for me. I get loads of ideas by looking on it every day. One of my favourite artists is Brian Viveros.
I was at a point in my career design when I just wanted to give up because nobody appreciated or understood what I was doing. Some of my lecturers ignored me and what I do or like, and they didn’t believe in me. But there was a tiny light inside me that told me to keep going. And not listen to anyone and keep at developing my style. After a couple of months I started to get noticed on the internet thanks to Behance and things went up from there. My advice is : don’t let anyone put you down. Do what you like to do, surround yourself with people that understand you and your style. And always listen to that voice inside you because that voice is right.
