Slovakia based photographer Veronika Klimonova's project Lights and Music is a series photographs taken at various concerts. Post-processed in black and white, the effect gives the photos a more dramatic feel. Let's see what in for us!
All the photos are snapshots from other concerts. Taken were a few years. In post-process I gave photos in black and white and cropped in to square. When I needed series to park photo competition, I was searching on the computer and chose these photos.
In high school I studied promotional art design. We drew, painted and created by hand. Later we learned to work with computer, Photoshop. I like that school, I could use my fantasy. Studies at university I tried department animation, it was not for me and then I started photography.
I really like seeing silhouettes, reflections, minimal... With my subject, I try to make them special with these photos. My inspiration is all in the world. I go down to the sidewalk and see a smile on the ground, or heart from splash, monsters on the seedy walls, reflections in the shop, bus windows... Instagram is best for these shots faces in places :D My inspiration are some photographers, I like Magnum photos, I watch several photo pages at Facebook, buy photo books and magazines... I don't like to imitate, I want to be myself.
One time I wrote articles for Slovak photo portal ephoto.sk, there I mentioned to train photo vision in the ordinary world (smiles, monsters, abstractions, shadows, reflections...). Try to be yourself, most photographers, me too we started with compact camera, photographed everything, knew nothing about composition... Most will learn with practice, reading articles, books, magazines and over time you can find your own style...
