This pictures painted for the stories written by one beautiful couple from Moscow. The task was to draw animals not cartoonish, but with character and personality. And besides, it had to be the lion and the raccoon! After some thought, we managed to find something that me and the customer both like. We've got a pretty animal with a strange but very warm friendship. Although these characters are very different, they look together very sweet. Like Swedish meatballs with cranberry jam :)

I inspired for this project by the people. They were so passionate about their idea, and they wrote their history with such joy and sincerity that it could not fail to inspire! My style is cute pictures. Kind, thoughtful or funny. Such a warm space. I'm inspired by the work of Rebecca Dautremer, Benjamin Lacombe and many-many other.

I can say only one thing: never stop. Everyone can do anything in theory. But often people throw up their work much earlier than it becomes worthwhile. So - don't stop!

About Varya Kolesnikova

Varya Kolesnikova was born in the suburbs. As a child, she used to sculpt from flour, water and salt (dogs only!), but never dreamed of becoming an Illustrator. Her dream was to become a veterinary or writing. She ended up taking philological education (don't know why?) and moved to St. Petersburg. She work only with music and only at night time.
