Cayce Garrison's newest project was inspired by the Historical buildings in Los Angeles - a sprawling Southern California city famed as the center of the nation’s film and television industry. Cayce wanted to show people the beauty and the rich architectural heritage of the city. Check out his illustrations here:

My building illustrations were a self-initiated project that came to me as I drove through downtown Los Angeles. The purpose of the project was to help showcase the beautiful and unique architecture found in Los Angeles. The downtown area currently finds itself in a whirlwind of new development and modern towers. Between all of this modern development, you can find a multitude of Art Deco-inspired architecture hiding all around the Los Angeles landscape.

In terms of how I styled the pieces I took a simplistic approach but wanted to keep the amazing detail these buildings were given. I challenged myself to create simple illustrations that still capture the uniqueness and beauty found in these historic buildings.

I have two pieces of advice for the aspiring artists. The first is to never stop learning. Be the constant student and push yourself to be better than you were the day before. My second piece of advice is to never lose sight of your child side. As a child, we were our most unique and imaginative selves. If you can keep just a small piece of that in your adult life then anything you create will be truly inspired.
