Maison by Rapee
Maison by Rapee was created as the sub brand of the prominent Australian textile and manchester brand – Rapee. Made Somewhere was engaged to create the sub brand which was to sit in the premium market sector and engage with an older demographic.
Made Somewhere created a bespoke and sophisticated brand which stood apart from the parent company and focused on delivering minimal design with quality finishes and techniques. The brand was curated across both print and digital media.
The idea was to represent Maison by Rapee as a premium and sophisticated brand which could sit as a stand alone or with its parent, Rapee. The branding of Maison by Rapee encompassed elegance and a strong link to the home, its aesthetics and appeal, through textiles and manchesters. The colours and typography were kept minimal and sophisticated, utilising timeless black and white compilations with subtle greys for a softer touch. Statement colours were brought out through photography so that they could adapt through seasons and trends. The materials and finishes used, such as the conquor paper, debossing and white ink print demonstrated a high level of quality and superiority.
Adobe software, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop were used to create the branding and various packaging such as the brandmark and icon, throw rug cases, swing tags, thank you cards and posters. All assets were brought together in InDesign where detailed style guides were created to explore the brands colours, typography and art direction.
Although only recently launched, Maison by Rapee has had a positive result in the design and consumer community. The style and execution of the new brand have been received well and is being distributed into high end Australian Department stores such as Myer and David Jones.
