Emese Kiss started the "Minimal Still Life" a few months ago, since then, she's continuously working on these minimalist series. The coolest things are in the cheapest stores. Before, she just spotted some funny objects during shopping that she thought she can use for her pictures.

Now I visit shops as a daily routine and look for different objects, tools, food etc. and I would never use the majority in the way it's intended to be used. I simply play with colors, shapes and surfaces, creating different gripping compositions. If an object was deprived of its original function and put in a strange context, it seems as it would come alive and tell stories. In the viewers' imagination they would become individual characters with their own identities.

For this project I use a light box, reflectors, Canon EOS 600D with a 50mm lens, flash, tripod. I mainly work on personal projects in which I try to experience and experiment with the way I react to my closest environment and to the global surroundings too, how different events inspire me and how I associate. I am really interested in the different scientific technologies and discoveries as they can significantly influence our future.

In addition to the digital photography, I also use analog and Polaroid cameras. These images mostly depict spontaneous situations, people, objects, places and events which are related to my everyday life.

Besides, many alternative professional communities are organized online, where you can share thoughts / ideas / works, inspiring and motivate each other. At first, I shared my images on Flicker and Tumblr, but now Instagram is where I feel at home, and also I post my photos on Behance and Ello. I always feel good on these online platforms, it's easy to find people with common interests and also possible to get feedback immediately.

After I finished an economic college it was a bit difficult to turn back to photography. Based on my experience, my advice is that if you feel passionate about something you shouldn’t waste your time for anything else. Go to museums and exhibitions a lot. There is always something to learn from the best. Work hard, but have fun.
