MONO
I created MONO which is a lamp. This name comes from it is movement which can turn on and turn off in one way movement, Y axis. It is color is black and I wanted to use that color because of the absorbtivity of the light. My lamp is made of one material with it is light switch.
That is my 2nd year project and I decided to make a desk lamp which can carry and turn on/off in an easy way. I used balsa wood because it is easy to shape and it is a light material. I used LED lights for the lamp because it will not get heat easily and they are environmental friendly. I chose the black color for the lamp because the uset can use it like a night lamp because the black color can not reflect the light. It gives soft light.
I used Rhinoceros on my computer for making 3D modelling of my lamp. I used V-Ray for the rendering. In a real life, I used balsa wood and I sticked them together. Then I carved for crating a cable way for the electricity. I placed the cable and I filled the gaps with the wood paste.
My teachers liked my project because it is one color and it is turning on and turning off in a one axis. I learned from this project that how can I make a lamp differently, how can I use the electrical cables, how to hide the cables in a good way while using the lamp and how can I join cables together.
