Move With Pride
Flexport's Pride Alliance and I collaborated to reinterpret the rainbow flag, using holographic fabric to reflect the true colors of the LGBTQ+ community. The shimmering iridescence serves as a symbol of embracing and accepting individuals for who they truly are. This creative approach sparks conversations and celebrates the diverse experiences within the community. Together, let's work towards a world where true colors are celebrated and acceptance is embraced.
Being part of the community, I always hoped for more adventurous pride campaign designs instead of just throwing the usual six colors everywhere. So, when I teamed up with Flexport's Pride Alliance, we wanted to show the rainbow vibes differently, not just by using the flag. We explored lots of ideas, like reflections on bubbles, lights through glasses and water. Finally, we found this holographic fabric, which we could print on t-shirts and swag. It not only brought the rainbow to life in a cool way but also gave the whole look a more elevated and youthful vibe.
This project was more about finding the right materials than using fancy software because all the colors reflect naturally instead of being printed. I kept it simple, using Adobe Illustrator to draw various shapes, showing that love can take all kinds of forms. Then, I teamed up with a vendor who could print the design on holographic material for t-shirts, tote bags, and stickers.
This project turned out really well, and I got a bunch of positive feedback. The coolest part was when my coworker's daughter loved the t-shirt so much that she wanted to wear it to school. That feedback still makes me happy because it shows the campaign isn't just a hit in the LGBTQ+ community—it's spreading its vibe to an even bigger audience.
