The New Egyptian Parliament by Architect Amr Rabie shows a very futuristic modern design of the structure. Amr used a lot of lines and geometric shapes to bring out the charm of his work. By using big glass windows, it allows natural light to be utilized and be used efficiently, it also gave the building an elegant and complemented the whole vision.

About the design, you know, there was a very spontaneous socio-political debate, especially after the Egyptian revolution in 2011 and the raised talking about freedoms and the power of the voice, the right of the people in demanding their legal rights, all these incidents which I think a very critical impacts should been reflected on the architecture forum, an assembly building or a parliament was just a ray of these reflections where you can deal with the both sides of the equation (the people and the government ) and their representatives and their voices.

I may say I was inspired by many great (I think) architects, like Oscar Niemeyer and his assembly in Brasilia, le Corbusier and Snøhetta, the relation between the architecture and community, the context and the multi-dialogue, making a statement, a dialect between the building and the users, the idea of designing for the community or for the people. The issue was making a statement that symbolizes all the thoughts and ideas, a statement for the country itself and its new way in dealing with politics and how it can be changed by the shifting paradigms, of course, the revolutionary ones.

I always think that the building is an experience you live with, a direct and indirect relation between the impact of the building on the users and the opposite. So, may I not be considered with the idea of comparing my designs or concepts to others as long as this experience succeeded.

Can’t say I have a certain style, I like the Avant-garde arts and maybe supremacism a lot, but in architecture I love the idea of playing with forms, lines, cubes, neo-modernism, brutalism and juxtapositions, I think it’s a mix between many things that benefits the main idea maybe.

For artists and architects can’t find anything to say as just you need to follow your imagination and to be sure that arts have no limits no boundaries or borders, go beyond the idea beyond everything and feel liberated, an artist soul is a free soul so don’t lock it and as Tschumi says never take anything for granted and never stop questioning.
