As a Freelance graphic designer, I often get a lot of petitions to design the visual identity for small businesses. This usually means, all they want as a start up company is the design of the logo to begin with and gradually they will add more pieces to their project.

In the meantime I end up with a bunch of isolated logos until the client ask me to get going with the project, so I decided to make this collection with some of the logos I've designed through this past year.

Creating the general concept for the identity is the phase of my work that take most of my time. I tend to do a lot of research regarding the area of work of my client's company and what they want for their identity.

Before getting involve with any software I spend a considerable amount of time sketching, after I've done something I'm happy with I take it to Adobe Illustrator where a digitalized my sketches and add the type, though I really like typographic artworks I am not very good at lettering, so I tend to look and find the best type font according to the project I am working with.

As a Graphic Designer I really like to focused on branding, is the area I like and the one I'd like to improve the most. I still have a lot to learn but since I started to work I've realized that it all depends of the type of client. However, the key is on creating the concept of design, if you don't have a good concept then probably the identity wouldn't be as good as it could have the potential to be, no matter what.
