Novice is a personal project, which is a magazine based on exploring and using simple geometric shapes in design. The approach with this magazine was to explore creativity using only most commonly used geometric shapes and create different objects, layout etc.

Inspiration for this project came from the Bauhaus movement. It was known for its geometric, simple and fun designs. Everything starts with a simple geometric shape and i wanted to create a project where i challenged myself to use only geometric shapes. I wanted the design to be simplistic but different at the same time. That is why i chose to stick with four colour (white, black, red and blue) to create the layout for the magazine.

I have used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign. All the illustration are done in illustrator, the colours of the images were adjusted in Photoshop and the Indesign served the purpose of creating the magazine layout. I started by working in Adobe Illustrator and then move from Photoshop to Indesign.

This project was a great learning experience for me, as i tried to challenge my creativity by using only simple and primary geometric shapes like square, rectangle, circle and triangle. I hope that this project can be an inspiration for someone.
