Graphic designer Cora Martinez is a huge fan of Penny Dreadful. She thinks the visual aesthetic of the series is stunning. However, she couldn’t find a beautiful website about it, and that’s why Cora wanted to create her own webdesign. Basically, she passed one week on this project. She didn't have a job yet, so it's was really important for her to enrich her portfolio.

When I received a webdesign feature in Behance, I was like : "WAIT WHAT? ME?" *rolling on the floor* Like I said, Penny Dreadful is beautiful visually. I wanted to work with full screen pictures of the show, and compose my web design with. The photos have clearly defined the art direction of this project.

About the content, I wished something clear and efficient. Some news, characters’ presentations, and also pages to deepen some aspects of the show, especially the historical context. It’s primordial to me to think carefully about the content before beginning the webdesign. I also made photo editing, but not systematically. It’s truely important to know when editing is useful, or just superfluous.

My style is easily discernible on my behance projects. I like lineal fonts, large spacing between letters, contrast, and oblique shapes. About the current trends in design, as you can see I like put elements in front of titles, that gives an interesting depth. But I’m more attached to the content than the style. I prefer a thousand times a funny or/and relevant website than an aesthetic one.

The best advice I can give is probably : Never seek the compliments. Always seek criticism, and take it as an advice.
