Like most of Ina Stanimirova's - a Barcelona based artist, this project has female figure as the protagonist. It talks about the inner world of women. Each one of these women are surrounded by a different atmosphere and talks to the viewer about herself without using any words.

All my latest work was very intimate, reflexive and "dark" in some way. I spent a long time making drawings with almost no color, just ink and pencil. I felt like I needed a change in this, starting a new phase in my work. That's why I started with this series of playful and colorful girls. I tried to keep the mysterious look, but adding some fresh and positive vibes.

I usually start with an idea, which can come from anything: a movie, a song, a word, a feeling... I always try to keep a pen and a paper near so I can write them down! I always use photography as a reference, so I can get realistic results. Sometimes I take photos of friends, and other times I takes pictures of myself. I like to use traditional tools, mainly pencil, watercolor and ink. Then I scan the illustrations and give them a little contrast and color retouches digitally.

I'm very happy with this project because people really seem to connect with it. Also, I feel like I've improved my coloring skills and got to a renewed style that I definitely want to keep exploring.
