Pine Tree Rails

The project you are interested in, The "Anywhere is Playground" illustration, is one part of "Pine Tree Rails."
It is the adventurous story of a squirrel and friends riding the pine tree train that runs on trees.
I want it to become an Animation or picture book.
The project "Pine Tree Rails" started from an idea while I was looking at the trees standing on the side of the road.
Suddenly, a thought popped into my head,
and it happened after finishing lunch with my 4-year-old son.
'How interesting would it be if a small train went between all those trees?'
Unexpectedly, we saw a squirrel coming down from the tree.
I thought it would be more fun if it were the train driven by a squirrel.
Consequently, the idea was born while talking to my son.
My illustration style has changed a lot because I wanted to transform my previous simple graphic style into rough and freestyle.
I thought it would be better to draw rough illustrations than vector style to visualize my ideas instantly.
The pine tree and train colours are deep dark black; so, I designed the vivid yellow squirrel to harmonize with the background colour.
Additionally, I am creating various colourful sub-characters and beautiful background scenes.
I used to work with tablets and computers.
These days, I have an iPad,
so I think I'm working very fast because using the digital tablet is so convenient for me.
First, I draw a sketch very roughly, like the picture I sent you.
Then, I fix it two or three times, draw clear lines again on the sketch.
And then, colouring is the last process.
I am using Photoshop to modify colours or organize layers.
Using photoshop for colouring is the most comfortable for me.
I haven't uploaded my artwork actively yet.
So my first step is uploading on Behance lightly (It is a portfolio website).
Surprisingly. People like my artwork.
So then, it seems I am getting some motivation to immerse myself in my work because of that.
I had obsessed with finishing my works perfectly.
It always bothered me to finish only one drawing or ended up giving up with consuming so much time and energy.
As I concentrate on completeness rather than perfection,
I feel that I am growing up, which is the best thing I learned from the project.
