"Plants" project was born in May 2016, and was destined to be shown during Mint Magazine's launching party. We decided to add some extra work to liven up the walls (but this was also a good occasion to produce some personal work). This how I came with "Plants": a set of small animations picturing plants that we can find in Seville, blended with typical colors of the city.

Since our fifth issue takes the readers to Seville, Spain; I chose plants to represent the city because it is omnipresent in Seville and it contributes to the graphic charm of the city. Plants are everywhere: in the streets, on every balcony, in the hidden patios, or all over the walls... All these plants make the city very welcoming, warm, dense, dynamic, full of life! The aim was to evoke this aspect through minimalist, dynamic and colorful scenes. I took an inventory of the pretty colors and of the plants I captured back there and I composed some simple and dynamic images.

Plants is realized as a simple stop motion, made up with paper sheets and real plant leaves, shooted by daylight to avoid some aseptic finish. I captured every single step with my camera, retouched it using photoshop and finally put everything together using FinalCut Pro.

I haven't really got feedbacks yet, since it is kind of recent. Only comments I heard were that it is fresh and dynamic (which is a good thing since it was the aim at the beginning), but I can't really say more for now.
