Private Lomonosov school is a history-steeped place of education which is meant to be a true international school in terms of both: offering accredited International Baccalaureate programs and having international students. In 2017 the school celebrated its 25th anniversary. And to lodge in the memory this remarkable date a new corporate identity, including a sophisticated coat of arms were designed.

The first version of the coat of arms was created by the very pupils and teachers of the school. The elements, which conveyed the intellectual values, were depicted. For instance, the shield, knowledge tree, animals (the bear is a symbol of Russia, the deer is a symbol of Nizhny Novgorod), flag with the image of the confluence of the rivers in Nizhny Novgorod, square academic cap were drawn. When design, we were inspired by the multiple techniques of engraving. The choice of elements was the key for understanding the history of the private Lomonosov school. To bring into focus a special premium status of the school the designers paid close attention to the printing technologies and the quality of the paper.

All the sketches were created by using a pencil. When all the edits were approved the elements were digitalized and transferred to vector in adobe illustrator. Moreover, we have learnt to work with a special technique of engraving: hot engraving; sophisticated and detailed elements of coat of arms, very thin copper foil KURZ Luxor.
