Retro posters are my new idea. I used to make map posters but this time is different. I put much more effort than usual to make this style. Each layer is carefully selected patterned and a particular color is picked for it. Firstly all colors are based on retro style color palette. All colors together gives amazing juxtaposition that reminds of some old style posters. Water is made from waves pattern while the background is filled with orange stripes. There are much more details in this design, including background, streets details and edges of each layer are separately designed.

Retro style is something I wanted to do for a long time. I needed to make research about colors and patterns I want to use for my project. I study old style posters usually from "polish poster school". I found there many ideas how to combine colors and patterns.

I mostly draw the illustration and needed patterns by hand. It takes more time but it gives me idea how it will look for real. Then I scan and transfer the images into computer program. Later I combine all together in PS to receive final illustration.

This project was created after I listen to many people about my last project. The quality of details in illustrations is much improved. The response is great now and I get new clues about my future projects. I think the research time and the work time put in this project is paying back in good response.
