SF70-H Vector Art
2017 marks the dawn of a new F1 era, which saw the F1 car become faster than ever before by introducing bigger tyre and more aggressive aerodynamic approach. These changes makes the car looks quite a lot different than the previous year. As a big fan of Formula One I hope I can share the beauty of an F1 car through my artwork.
The idea of this project is to experiment with outlines to give a sense of dimensions into a vector artwork. By making the outer line thicker and the inside line thinner, the artwork should have a little more "pop" and dimension. I think by choosing a formula one car as my object, the complication and the details of 2017 Ferrari's F1 car should be a good choice to experiment with this style.
I am using Adobe Illustrator for most of my vector works. For this project first of all I need to put all the car's images as my reference. One side view image of the car is not going to be enough so i tried to take some look on different angle of the car to really understand the details. People would think that this is just a traced work, but believe me you can't achieve this kind of work with just little knowledge of working with vector graphic.
In general people are pretty much interested because for a people who doesn't know about F1, this artwork can be an introduction for them that F1 car is a beautiful and complicated machine. I have learned that by adding more details and also experimenting with new things can bring you to another level.
