Soundreaming is an interactive Internet presentation that documents site-specific compositions and sound impressions. Soundreaming attempts to translate selected audio events, taking place on the outskirts of the city, to the visual language. This project is a joyful rediscovery of various urban places, sort of an affirmation of soundscape and sense of hearing the World.
The project has been produced as a part of the Artist-in-Residence programs at Fundació AAVC Hangar in Barcelona, Spain (2014) and at Atelierhaus Salzamt in Linz, Austria (2016).
The project was developed during the Artist-in-Residence period at the Foundation AAVC Hangar in Barcelona, 2014. Hangar’s jury has chosen us as residents in the open call for international residencies. Hangar’s mission is to support the visual artists and creators during the different phases of their art production processes as well as to contribute to the best development of their projects. For doing so, Hangar facilitates them equipment, production assistance and a suitable context for experimentation and free knowledge transfer. The centre offers an array of services and a framework that allows for the research and development of art productions.
We arrived in Barcelona with the intention to observe, analyse, and in consequence find the best means of formal expression. The starting point of the creation was a map of Barcelona. We developed a body of work relating directly to our experience in Barcelona, utilizing the unique properties of situations, traditions and objects inherent to the city and re-purposing them as material. Our work tends to solidify itself within a variety of forms: web-based installation and sound compositions.
We are lucky, because our project has been presented during interesting exhibitions and festivals: Fait Gallery Preview, Brno; FILE 2015 – Electronic Language International Festival, Sao Paulo; ISEA 21st International Symposium on Electronic Art, Vancouver; Interference Festival, Gdansk; 11th Athens Digital Arts Festival; Biennale of Digital & Internet Art, Wroclaw.
